Aloo ki Tarkari | Potato Curry | Vegetarian

 






Hi friends how are all i was busy from three days now i aback with one more new delicious recipe called ''Potato Curry'' in Urdu language called ''Aloo ki Tarkari'' . Basically It’s a vegetarian recipe that is super and simple to make, tastes delicious. Everyone love to have potatoes with meat. So I am going to share you ''Potato Curry'' follow me Step by step to Know about this recipe how we make.






  How to Make Delicious ''Potato Curry'' or ''Aloo ki tarkari''?

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoon oil
  • ½ kg potatoes    sliced
  • ¾ teaspoon cumin seeds 
  • 1 teaspoon salt      adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon Fenugreek seeds      methidana
  • 2 cups water
  • ½ teaspoon nigella seeds     kalonji
  • 2 teaspoon lemon juice or tamarind paste

Instructions


  1. Heat oil and add cumin seeds.
  2. Cook for a minute till they splutter Add sliced potatoes followed by salt.
  3. Add red chili flakes, turmeric and fenugreek seeds and then saute for 2 minutes.
  4. Add 2 cups water and bring the potato mixture to a boil, and turn heat to low pressure.
  5. Cook on low flame about half hour till potatoes soft.
  6. Use wooden spoon for mash and crush well the potatoes into chunks.
  7. Crush the potatoes and then keep cooking.
  8. The gravy become thick the potatoes release their starch and then cook for a few minutes till the desired gravy thickness is reached, and turn off heat.
  9. Add onion seeds, nigella seeds and lemon juice at the end, and mix it well.
  10. Serve hot with puri or paratha.

Recipe Notes


The potatoes cooked till soft, and mashed its well with a spoon when they break apart and release their starch which combines for create a thick gravy with potatoes that absolutely tastes delicious . Will best if use wooden spoon.
