Namkeen Lassi | Salty Lassi

 












Hi i am back with new super simple beverage recipe that’s of Namkeen Lassi (Salty lassi) it's popular beverage in Pakistan and India it's made from yogurt and salt, roasted cumin. Basically Lassi is a popular beverage in some Asian countries subcontinent made with yogurt, Salt and roasted cumin can be enjoyed throughout the come summer in Pakistan and India can its cools you down It also helps in protecting from heat stroke and giving you the necessary energy to sustain the scorching of sun the addition of salt in Namkeen Lassi also replenishes the electrolytes that are lost through excessive sweating it is a very common problem in the summers! and we Know that the yogurt is a natural probiotic meaning that Lassi is best for digestion, stomach problems and acidity.















Ingredients


  • cups yogurt ⁠
  • 1/2 to 1 cup water ⁠
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt   adjust to taste
  • Sugar     optional
  • 1 teaspoon roasted and ground cumin powder  more for garnish

Instructions


  1. Place yogurt with mix 1/2 cup water.
  2.  Add salt and roasted cumin powder in jug then whisk  it well together till smooth.
  3.  Add more water if more liquid consistency is preferred.
  4. Taste and add cumin seeds as required. 
  5. Add tablespoon of sugar to balance it out If you feel the Lassi is too sour.
  6. The Lassi can also be made in a blender pour into glasses and add ice cubes.
  7. ⁠Garnish with roasted cumin powder and serve cold. 


Recipe Notes

How to make roasted cumin seeds ?


Place cumin seeds on a frying pan. Dry roast on medium heat for 2 minutes, making sure to move pan around so the cumin seeds don’t burn. Take off heat and place in a spice grinder and ground into a coarse powder. Pour the roasted and ground cumin seeds into an air-tight bottle and it will last for a couple of months in the spice cabinet.
